You know, when we're singing the song, All Hail King Jesus, when I sing that song, I'm like, he's right there. And I'm thinking we're all we're all bowing down and all hail King Jesus. Wouldn't it be cool and isn't it right to try to think of living that way every day? And of helping everybody that we can to have that same attitude. Loving them enough that we teach them to all hail King Jesus and his power. So this last By the way, has everybody had a good day so far? Been encouraging? So in this last session, we want to get really personal. And we want to talk about what it means, whatever position we are in a church, but especially if you're a leader in a church, that our first job before preaching, before leading and all that, is to be disciples, to make disciples. And it's like owning the mission of being a disciple who makes disciples. And I'm so grateful that we have three men who are gonna share with us. One, Chip Hughes is gonna start us off. You'll learn a little bit about Chip in just a few minutes here. But you're gonna see how here's a guy in his life who's just all about being a disciple and making disciples. And then Rodney Gallaty, who's just had a phenomenal ministry over many years making disciples. Who make disciples, Leading Replicate, and then Jason Shepard, the pastor of this church, The Church Project, and they're all gonna talk about how important it is that everybody make the fundamental decision, first and foremost, I'm gonna be a disciple who makes disciples. So welcome to our afternoon session. Let the video roll. 5:50 - Participant 1 Chip King believes everyone was made to win in life. Throughout his career as a strength and conditioning coach, sports chaplain, and campus minister, he has taken his message to the highest levels. As a college football player at Ohio University, the Lord captured his heart and sent him into the Disciple-Making Mission on the college campus. Along the way, he has discipled hundreds of college students and young professionals. One of those young men was Chad Braker, While they were college teammates, Chip taught Chad about Jesus and baptized him. Through the years, Chad has become a prominent leader in the NFL as an executive. In 2024, became the Tennessee Titans president of football operations. When Chip was a college strength and conditioning coach at Tennessee Tech University, he co-founded a worldwide ministry to the sport of CrossFit called Faith RxD. During these years, he discipled many competitors in the sport, including the most successful CrossFit competitor in the world, Rich Frommel. Chip's personal mission is to train leaders to win. This is why he co-founded B1 Maple, a ministry that equips disciple makers to win at life and win others to Jesus. And in 2025 he became the director of team development and team chapman for the Tennessee Titans, where he serves players, staff, and coaches to help them win on and off the field. Chip and his wife, Nicole, live in the Nashville area with their two daughters. Now, let's hear from Chip himself as he explains what it means to win. Let me tell you about a person that I've learned about recently. Optimized to operate for peak performance in life. A supercomputer that weighs less than three pounds was implanted within this person's head with 13 signal processors. The supercomputer was connected to 4 billion pain sensitive structures, 500,000 touch detectors, and over 200,000 temperature sensors to help the person's body run at precision engineered capacity. This person had a core circulatory engine the size of a fish that was put in the middle of his chest and it pumps 600,000 gallons of bioplasma fluid used for fuel through 60,000 miles of tubing throughout the person's body. This fluid feeds the person's body with every vital and even contains a built-in waste removal system to complete its own fuel change to make sure it remains secure. That little small cardiac engine pulses tirelessly, completing its extraordinary mission 36 million times every year. Now this person may sound like someone that NASA just engineered, but you may know where I'm going. It's true about every single person who has a working brain and a working heart. And I think that means it's true about everybody in here. All of that is true. Not to mention the 24,000 fibers you have built in each of your ears to hear, the 100 million receptors you possess in your eyes to see, 206 bones, 600 muscles, 45 miles of neural signal processors coursing through your body that helps you take each step. As the psalmist says, you have been remarkably and wondrously made. Or, what we'd like to say today, you were made to win. Now, do you believe it? Do you believe you were made to win? 10:03 - Unidentified Speaker Somebody say, go Titans. 10:07 - Participant 1 Sometimes. Well, not only can you believe because your physical capacity, but as a follower of Jesus Christ, you should expect to win. Now, why would I say that? Jesus is the supreme champion who won it all. Don't we believe that? And you follow him. He conquered death. He raised to life, and he did this to give us Father's life, and he said he did it to give us life in abundance. Now, is that the kind of life you're living? Do you feel like you're winning in life? Some of us today, I have a feeling, don't. You say, no, I don't think I feel like I'm winning. For some of us this past year, maybe the past five have been really tough. You might be sitting here right now thinking, this is the toughest year of my life. Considerable health challenges, maybe. Personal, relational concerns, financial concerns. It's hard to feel like you're winning. If you're a parent, you might be watching the kids struggle. Whether your kids are out on the home or still in the home, maybe they're not following the Lord. It's hard to feel like you're winning when you see your own struggle. As a leader, you may be dealing with the fact that your church doesn't seem like it's winning. More people have left this life than have come to Jesus this past year. And maybe your own personal participation in the mission, and we're talking about it right now, you might not feel like you're winning. You may be challenging others to lead. You may be equipping them to lead others to Jesus, but you personally can't even remember the last time you led someone to Jesus. It's hard to feel like you're winning when that's true. And I've talked to leaders who told me that. And I know we probably got some here. So for many of these reasons and many others, you may not feel like you're winning, but I want you to hear, you were made to win. You were made to win. Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that God chose you as his method? Not that he needs you, not that he needs any human being, but he chose to send you to carry the gospel, the life-changing, world-changing gospel to the world. That was His plan. And he expects it to result in multiplication. Disciples making disciples, Matthew He expects it to result in transformation. People becoming more like Jesus, 2 Corinthians 3. And he expects it to result in magnification multitudes singing what we just sang. Worshiping the Lord, Revelation says. So before we talk about how you should be expecting, and I want to help us think about what it means to expect to win, how to grow your expectations, let me make sure I'm clear. What is winning? What is winning? Winning simply is following the champion, Jesus Christ, who has won our hearts. Anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself. Take this cross daily. And he said, whoever wants to save his life will lose it. But if you lose your life because of me, you'll save it. You're winning. But where does he lead us when we follow him? He leads us to win others to Him. We win so we can win others to Jesus. We commit our lives to Him, we devote our ways to Him, and ultimately we win others to His highest priority. He came to seek and save the lost. If that's where He's going, that's where I'm going, all right? And what I realize is when I get busy, When I aim to be my best, it pushes me into the mission of Jesus. Because truly, if you want to maximize your potential in life, the best way is to maximize your potential in the mission. But you know that not everybody is winning. In fact, surveys tell us, a recent survey in 2022 some of us know about, that life put out that most Christians do believe that it's the most loving thing I can do, is to share Jesus with others. But yet, that same survey showed us that only 30% Christians are actually taking action toward the goal. So why are Christians not winning others to Jesus? Maybe because of not don't expect to win. They don't expect to. They don't take action because they don't believe their actions will make a difference. So they don't say anything. That's for somebody else, right? Zig Ziglar said, one of my favorite quotes, he said, you were born to win. But in order to win, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win. And that's true about athletics. And it's true about life following Jesus. So let's talk quickly in the last few minutes here. How can I grow my expectations? So when I was being discipled by a man when I was in college, we were passing by one day and saw one of these on the ground. You know what this is? You know, one of these things is going away. What can you buy for one cent? Not a whole lot, right? That's why, in fact, it costs more to make a penny than one cent. That's why we're just pretending to do. Canada did that back in the day. So we're finally getting there, but, so we're passed by opinions, and the man at the side of me said, that reminds me, how many times do I pass by someone and I don't pay attention to their value? How many times has someone passed by this opinion? And you go out in the parking lot, you'll find one. He says, but what if I stop and I notice some value, and I pick it up? What can I do? And that transformed the way I think about value of one. But then I came across another illustration that maybe you've heard as well. What if you could invest this in a program that would double it every day for 30 days? How much money would you have? Just in a month. Today it's worth one cent, tomorrow it's worth two. Next day it's worth four, then eight. By the end of the week, you got a dollar and 28 cents. Still not gonna be a whole lot. Not even gonna get you half a gallon of gas these days, right? Another week, you got a couple hundred bucks. Keeps doubling. Another week, you got 2,000. But something amazing happens in the last seven days. This little penny, this one cent that I picked up and I said I want to double it, the 30th day it turned into 5.3 million dollars. So I took those two things together and that's become really my life direction is I must expect to win and grow my expectation to win because I know the value of one. One. What can one do? We talked about Rich Froning, the most famous CrossFitter in the world. Those who know CrossFit, he's kind of like the Michael Jordan of CrossFit. Rich Froning was one of thousands of students that I taught at Tennessee Tech, athletes, and he showed up in class one day and I was telling him about CrossFit. Never heard of it. He goes down to his bar and shouts, What's more importantly, I invited him into a discipling relationship. So let me tell you that. And as a believer, he began to be discipled. And I didn't realize what that one could do, because we pass by world changers every day. On our dinner table, at the coffee shop, at work, in athletics. But sometimes, that one can even reach 5.3 million the first time. And that's what he's done. He had that tattooed on his body. He wanted to be reminded that Jesus is everything to him. He's still following Jesus today. At that time, he was just a poor college student. So I have grown my expectations and value more in the second The formula is real. That's not just fiction. Maybe I can't do that with a penny, but I can do that with another person. If I invest in one person next year, we double our impact. If you invest in one, and I continue to invest in one, just one a year, after 30 years, how many have we reached? 5.3 million people. The math's real. And it's happening. It's happening around the globe. Another one that I met when I was in college was Chad Brinker. Chad was seated next to me on a plane going to NC State. 21:05 - Unidentified Speaker I was a junior, he was a freshman. 21:07 - Unidentified Speaker He was our new running back. 21:09 - Participant 1 Kicked a turner and sat down next to him and had no idea I was going to get a question. I had just been discipled, hadn't begun the discipleship, to start praying and ask God for one. I asked God for one, and here it was a sign, and then he sat next to me. 21:30 - Unidentified Speaker I had one of the WWJD bracelets on my wrist. 21:32 - Unidentified Speaker He said, you're a Christian? 21:34 - Unidentified Speaker I said, yes sir. 21:36 - Unidentified Speaker He said, I've been wanting to talk to somebody. 21:48 - Participant 1 So we began to develop a relationship, a discipleship, through the years, the last guess, almost 30 years now. He's been in the NFL. He's our president of the Tennessee Titans. He called me last year and said, well, do you want to put your name in the hat to be the chaplain of the Tennessee Titans? I said, I can't hire you, but I'll let you interview. I said, OK, let me go. Little did I know what got me. Doing all those years. One. So we grow our expectations to the value of one. We grow our expectations to the value of God's process. So I just want to finish with you here in this. You are his one. You are his one. Jesus took the time to pick you up. He noticed your value. He said, It's time for you now to own the mission. Jesus made you the man of life. He's done everything that you need.
